Welcome to the
Dames Foundation
Our Current Project
To commemorate the 100th Anniversary of U.S. Women’s Right to Vote and the ratification of the 19th Amendment on August 26, 1920, we have partnered with Virginia Women Attorneys Association members and a local, Virginia artist, Laura DeAngelis, to design a beautiful brooch, in the 1920’s art deco style. This pin incorporates the colors of the U.S. suffrage movement: purple, gold, and white.
We have also designed a charm that connects beneath the brooch or to any other piece of jewelry and features a Dogwood blossom, “100 years,” and “1920-2020” on the front. On the back it says “19th Amendment; Justice Demanded Suffrage; August 26, 1920; VWAA.”
The brooch can also be worn as a pendant on a necklace.
For those of you who collect jewelry or are purchasing these items as gifts, the charm helps to provide context for the brooch and its special meaning.
We only have a limited quantity available. All of the proceeds go towards off-setting costs of this website and supporting the mission of the Dames Foundation.
